Help Build the Future of Emergency Response in Hygiene

The Hygiene Fire Protection District does more than fight fires. We are often the first to respond in an emergency, whether it’s a wildfire, a medical call, a car accident, or even helping rescue a dog from an icy lake. Our trained team is here for you, day and night, protecting lives and property with care and speed.

But our station no longer meets the needs of our growing community. Without proper facilities, our firefighters can’t legally stay overnight, slowing response times and stretching our capacity.

We’re rebuilding the older section of our station on our current property to better serve the people of Hygiene. The new facility will include:

  • On-site firefighter housing, with sleeping quarters, kitchen, and laundry for 24/7 readiness and safety for firefighters

  • A dedicated community room, free for local residents to use for meetings, events, and safety education

  • Sustainable and durable design, blending with the character of Hygiene, and built to last 30 to 40 years

This isn’t just a fire station. It’s a shared investment in safety, community connection, and our future.

Campaign Goal: $4.7 Million

We’re raising $4.7 million through community giving, grants, district reserves, financing, and a possible mill levy increase. If a mill levy is approved, the estimated cost would be around $300 to $400 per year for a home valued at $900,000.

Even with other funding sources, community donations are essential. Your gift shows local support and helps bring this project to life.

How to Give

Donations to the Hygiene Fire Protection District are processed securely through the Longmont Community Foundation. Giving through the Foundation makes your gift tax-deductible and supports our project directly. Visit our Donation Page to give online or explore other ways to contribute.
