Candidates are considered twice a year for inclusion into the department.

Hiring Process

• Application submitted

• Written exam

• Integrity interview

• Oral Board interview

• Drug screen

• Background & driving record check

• Physical agility test

• Chiefs Interview

 

**Preference goes to those with current Firefighter Certification, current First Responder or State of Colorado EMT or Paramedic Certifications, Wildland Fire Engine Boss, or the ability to respond on daytime calls during the week.

​​​​​​​​Requirements for Volunteer EMT/Paramedic Positions

​

This is a non firefighting position, that responds as an EMS Responder

​

• Must be at least 18 years of age prior to applying

• Must have High School Diploma or GED

• Must live within 5 miles of Station

• Successful completion of hiring process

• Completion of probationary period within 6 months of volunteer hire date

• Completion of Department Driver/Operator Program within 12 months from completion of probationary period

• Attend a minimum of 36 hours of Medical/Rescue training a year

• Respond to a minimum of 18% of calls a year

• Attend Monthly Business Meetings

• Obtain minimum of First Responder, Healthcare Provider CPR,  FEMA NIMS IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, and IS-800 within first 12 months if not already certified.
